Copy/Paste in to the schematic from Excel or Word

Hi everybody,

is any possiblitieis to Paste the objects (e.g. Text) from Excel or Word in to the schematic sheet of the Orcad Capture?
For example:

I have a table  in Excel and I want insert it in to the schematic sheet.

U1 Test1 Ser.Number1 Footprint 1
U2 Test2 Ser.Number2 Footprint 2
C1 100nF Ser.Number3 Footprint 3
C2 100nF Ser.Number4 Footprint 4

1. Copy/Paste is not possible. Paste is not active in Capture in this case.

2. Place Text and paste in to the "Edit text" box is works, but without any tabs. I got something like this

U1 Test1 Ser.Number1 Footprint 1
U2 Test2 Ser.Number2 Footprint 2
C1 100nF Ser.Number3 Footprint 3
C2 100nF Ser.Number4 Footprint 4

3. OLE Object is too complicated.

Is any another way to do this?

Thanks

JuriV

Can you try placing a snapshot of the table from excel in OrCAD Capture by Place > Picture or do you want to edit the table also in OrCAD Capture?

I use a simple text editor for this. Typing tables etc. right into the text insert box in Capture is impossible. Use for instance Notepad++ and use space for separating the columns etc. Don't use tab as separator. Not very professional, but it works;)

    Hi Jeet,

thank you for replying. This method is possible, but very cumbersome. You should make a snapshot,
then put it e.g. into the Paint, save as e.g.jpg. Then in Orcad Place > Picture.
Result: the table in Capture looks distorted.

    But ist possible.

Yes agree, using jpg gives a picture with very low resolution and doesn't look good. For more complex stuff we actually use OleObject, for instance putting block diagrams from Visio. This gives much betteer resolution and work quite well. One drawback is that the DSN file size increases and will be harder to handle, especially if you have the DSN file on a newtwork drive with high latency.
