Orcad X CIS crash when exporting to PDF

Capture 24.01 hf 02 keeps crashing often when I try to export PDF using either Ghostscript 10.04.0 64-bit or Acrobat 2020 Professional with distiller. I select the project.dsn from the file tree, click export and 8 out of 10, I get an error message saying the Application has quit and Capture closes. 2 out of 10, the project gets corrupted, and I have to copy the schematic file and create a new opj file.

What am I doing wrong here?

Please confirm if this is a design specific issue, or you are facing this on multiple projects.

You can verify this by opening the sample project present at below installation location and then try exporting the PDF.

    C:\Cadence\SPB_24.1\tools\capture\samples\Schematic\Bench

    Hello,

No, not a design specific issue. I'm moving from Xpedition and so I'm starting out with new designs. I've created 5 projects and all 5 of them have this issue. I can print but not export to PDF to have all the component properties.

I'll try it out with the sample project today and let you know.

    Best Regards.

I tried that project, that one crashed too. However, I did some digging and I found that it would create a 0 byte capOutput.ps file in the directory when it crashed. I also found that I had Orcad 23 driver installed from the previous installation. I have removed that and rebooted the machine. For the 6-7 times I've tried on multiple projects, I don't seem to see a crash. I also now see a Capture progress dialog which never used to show up. So, I don't know if having two drivers messed up things. The old driver did not get uninstalled when I removed Orcad 23.

I'll keep an eye on this and report if I see the issue again.
