Reference designator remains same when copying pasting a Part

I copied and pasted a part with a ref des u1 but the new part has same ref des.How to avoid this

    Go to Options -> Preferences -> Miscellaneous tab and disable "Preserve Reference on Copy" option under Auto Reference section.
