Editing Symbol in Schematic Capture, Trying to delete a line but seems like there is an invisible boundary that i cant delete objects outside of. Using Cadence 17.4

I generated a Block and had a long list of ports added. I'm trying to edit the symbol but some lines and notes seem blocked, and I cant lasso select them and drag them.'

Any ideas how to expand the boundary to be able to grab and delete those components.

    Hello,

I'm presuming the application you're using is OrCAD X Capture. It may be in your best interest to update to the latest version 25.1, as it includes important bug fixes and could help prevent potential issues in the future.

If you're trying to edit a block symbol with a long list of ports and some lines or labels seem inaccessible (e.g., you can't lasso-select or drag them), here are a couple of ways to resolve it:

    1. Edit the Part
Left-click the component in the schematic.
    Right-click and choose "Edit Part".
In the part editor, you can manually delete or reposition unwanted input/output lines (ports).
If some elements are hard to select, try zooming out or using Ctrl+click to select them individually.

    2. Remove or Edit Text Labels
In the Edit Part window, go to the Basic Attributes tab.
You can delete or rename the port labels here.
You can also click and drag the text labels to reposition them.

    3. Expand the Symbol Boundary
If some ports or labels are outside the visible boundary of the symbol:
In the Edit Part tool, look for the symbol boundary box (usually a rectangle around the part).
Click and drag the edges of the boundary to expand it.
This should make previously hidden or blocked elements accessible for editing or deletion.

    Hope this helps. :)

    Kind regards,
    Lauren
