Control Which Properties Are Checked by Update Part Status in OrCAD X Capture CIS

In OrCAD X Capture CIS, Update Part Status helps compare placed schematic components with their linked CIS database parts and identify property differences.

Run Tools > Update Part Status in Part Manager to check the components in your design.

The resulting status is displayed in Part Manager, helping you identify components that are not synchronized with the database.

But what if you do not want a particular property to be checked?

Navigate to:

Options > CIS Configuration > Setup > Part Database > Configuration

In the configuration table, use the Update Part Property column to control this behavior:

Enabled: The property is checked during Update Part Status.
Disabled: The property is excluded from the check.

You can also use Options > Update Part Status > Verify Parts Against (.OLB) Libraries to verify placed parts against their source libraries.
