Turning enclosed lines into a shape?

 Is there an existing way (I will assume using SKILL) to turn an area enclosed by lines into a shape on any given layer? In my specific application, I am bringing in a DXF drawing and I'd like to take the areas in the DXF file and make them shapes.

     Hi all,

     

    If you do go the SKILL path (haha what a pun!)  here's some things to watch out for:

    -- segments whose endpoint is close but not-quite-exactly-matching the startpoint of the next segment. You'll need a "close-enough bullseye" function to help find the next segment

    --line segments drawn "head -to- head" or "tail-to-tail". You'll need to  swap these end-to-end so that the endpont of each segment matches the startpoint of the next segment for when you build up your rpath from the list of segments

    -- "overlaid" segments, where a designer has laid down a segment then laid down another segment on top of it, making it invisible to the human eye. And you'll have to be able to handle major and minor arc segments too
