Turning enclosed lines into a shape?

EvanShultz

Is there an existing way (I will assume using SKILL) to turn an area enclosed by lines into a shape on any given layer? In my specific application, I am bringing in a DXF drawing and I'd like to take the areas in the DXF file and make them shapes.

See attached. Note that there are a couple of Right-Mouse-Button options to select the kind of conversion required. Dave

Hi Dave, I'm trying to re-tool this to convert lines on Assembly, and compose to shape on DFA layer. Can you please give soem guidance? Thanks!

You probably shouldn't use this tool if you are trying do do what I suspect. You have an assembly outline (drawn as a zero-width path) and you want to use it as the (filled) shape outline on the DFA layer. Right?
