Hi all,
Can we copy placement from old board by skill.
We often export all components by tool export subclass.
After that I place same component overlap old component.
Now I want to use skill to copy them.
Can we do it

    Elek,

you can use the File-->export-->Placement - for exporting the placement form old board file and
File-->import--> placement - for importing in the placement in new file.

    good luck!!

    Hi

You could use placement replication that was new in 16.2 for reusing placement from one board to another.

See information at sourcelink at  http://sourcelink.cadence.com/docs/files/Training/spb162/editor/PlaceAppMode/plc.html

In skill you could export placement coordinates, rotation etc. to a file using skill and then in a new board load that file and use axlDBCreateSymbol to place components using the same coordinates, rotation etc.

    Best regards

    Ole
