How to get clines length, start point & end point

Hi,

I am trying to extract the clines length and start & end point from the wirebond layer. Below is part of the code I wrote:-

foreach(clines allWiresInDesign
;WireStartPoint = sprintf(nil "%L:%L %L:%L" car(clines->startEnd) cadr(clines->startEnd) car(clines->startEnd) cadr(clines->startEnd))
;fprintf(writeOutFile strcat(WireStartPoint ","))
fprintf(writeOutFile strcat('(clines->xy) ","))
fprintf(writeOutFile strcat(clines->net->name "\n"))
;fprintf(writeOutFile strcat(car(clines->layer) "\n"))
);end foreach via allWiresInDesign

However, I got this error:-

E- *Error* strcat: argument #1 should be either a string or a symbol (type template = "S") - (clines->xy)

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Alice

    Alice,

    Your use of fprintf is incorrect the usage is

    fprintf(p_port t_formatString [g_args...])

    So try

    fprintf(writeOutFile "Net name %s\n" clines->net->name)

    fprintf(writeOutFile "Net name %s @ %P" clines->net->name car(cline->startEnd))

    Hi Craig,

    I tried, but the car(clines->startEnd) return nil. Below is my whole skill:-

    axlCmdRegister( "myWireInfo" `myWireInfo)
    (defun myWireInfo ()
    ; Find all of the wires in the design
    allWiresInDesign=list()
    designName = axlCurrentDesign()
    ;axlVisibleDesign(t)
    axlShell("redisplay")
    axlVisibleDesign(nil)
    axlVisibleLayer("Conductor/Bd1_D1_T1" t)
    axlVisibleLayer("Conductor/Bd1_D1_T2" t)
    axlVisibleLayer("Conductor/Bd1_D1_T3" t)
    axlUIWUpdate(nil)
    axlSetFindFilter(?enabled '(noall clines) ?onButtons '(noall clines))
    allWiresInDesign=axlGetSelSet(axlAddSelectAll())
    axlClearSelSet()
    ; Open a file to work on
    if(length(allWiresInDesign)==0
    then
    axlUIConfirm("No wires in this design. Please try another design.")
    else
    writeOutFile = outfile("./myWiresReport.csv" "w")
    fprintf(writeOutFile strcat("Design Wires Report for " designName "\n\n"))
    fprintf(writeOutFile "Wire Start Point, Wire End Point, Wire Net Name, Wire Layer,Wire Length\n")
    ; Output data for each wire to the file
    foreach(clines allWiresInDesign
    fprintf(writeOutFile "Net name %s\n" clines->net->name)
    fprintf(writeOutFile "%P" car(clines->startEnd))
    );end foreach via allWiresInDesign
    ; Close the file and wrap up
    fprintf(writeOutFile "END OF FILE")
    close(writeOutFile)
    axlShell("redisplay")
    axlUIConfirm( "Report has been generated in your working directory." )
    ; This next line launches Excel and displays the report
    axlHttp("myWiresReport.csv")
    );end if length(allWiresInDesign)==0
    );end defun myWireInfo

    What I plan write is to get the cline length in layer BD1_D1_T1 and compare to get the maximum/minimum clines, and total clines length

    Anyone have any idea?

    Regards,

    Alice

    Alice,

    Sorry for the confusion. A cline is a path object with a list of segement that you will need to look at.

        ; Output data for each wire to the file
        foreach(clines allWiresInDesign
          fprintf(writeOutFile "Net name %s" clines->net->name)
          foreach(seg clines->segements
            fprintf(writeOutFile " %P\n" car(seg->startEnd))
          )
        );end foreach via allWiresInDesign
