concept SKILL and renaming nets

Greetings all,

 In Concept, are nets database objects (dbids) or do they exist solely as properties attached to wire objects? There's various cn* commands to fiddle with wire objects but none for nets.

I'm crafting a net-renamer that works in conjuction with a spreadsheet.
