16.2 Constraint Manager "UserDefined" versus "TEMPLATE" schedule???

In the constraint manager window it appears users defined schedules show up as either "TEMPLATE" or "UserDefined", I'm trying to (1) understand what the difference is (sorry, I'm a newbie) and (2) what function, etc. in skill could I use to tell the difference between "TEMPLATE" and/or "UserDefined" schedules, axlSchedule only returns the actual value, e.g., on semicolon separated pin pairs in a string.

    Hi David

    So this is rather complicated to describe.

    1. If you use SigXplorer (Allegro PCB SI) and use the topology (File->Import Electrical CSet) with Wiring constraints then it will be a template. So all nets that refer to this ECset will show Topology as being Template.

    2. If you use Logic->Net Schedule inside PCB Editor and visually schedule the net the topology will show up as "User Defined". If you then create a ECset (RMB->Create->Electrical CSet) then it will show as a template in the CSet section and all nets that refer to this ECSet will show as Template. The originally hand scheduled net will still show as User Defined.

    In general you will see that net that refers to an ECset that includes scheduling (either from SigXplorer or PCB Editor) show up as Template. The net that you scheduled by hand in PCB Editor will need to be unscheduled in order to point to an ECset and inherit the constraints from that ECSet. So in other words, it will become Template if it is first unscheduled and then refers the ECset that was created in step 2 above.

    I hope this explanation helps you.

    You can use axlCNSEcsetGet("ECSETNAME") to get the dbid of the ECset and then Rastnest_Schedule_Type tells you whether it is "Template". Notice that you cannot have "User Defined" inside an ECSet - it can only exist on the net (and is created by scheduling inside PCB Editor)

    I suppose you could traverse through all nets to figure out if any of the is "User Defined"
