 Hi,

Im creating a new application w/c will no longer requires opening allegro manually.

Planning to automate some of the checking done using 3rd party application probobly

developed in (vb.net or c++). Using "extracta" alone will be very tasky that's why i would

like to seek help if anyone already have developed an application that can run SKILL program

without manually opening ALLEGRO anymore. Most probobly it will run hidden so user dont

need to see allegro opening anymore.

Thanks for yo help!

The Skill interpreter can only be run in an Allegro session.  You can launch Allegro with the -nographic switch to have it run without a GUI.  A X display buffer is required even when using the -nographic option.

IIRC you need to have another command line switch which executes a script which calls the SKILL code... perhaps there is a way to "autostart" a SKILL routine with a script?  Never done it without a script. :)

    These are the steps:

Register a command to execute your Skill code in your Allegro.ilinit file. (e.g . axlCmdRegister("mySkill" 'mySkillStart)

Either load or autoload that code in your Allegro.ilinit file. (e.g. mySkillStart.autoload = "mySkill.il")

Create your script to call the Skill command (e.g. mySkillScript.scr)

Run the script (e.g. "allegro -s mySkillScript -product PCB_Designer -nographic myDesign.brd")
