Change subclass command

Hi

A standard command in PCB Editor is "Edit->Change" where it is possible to change objects between subclassese.

I was wondering if such a command is available through skill? I have a complete library of symbols where all objects on "DISP_TOP" subclass must be moved to "ASSEMBLY_TOP" instead. Both are in the same CLASS.

Also the objects range from text, lines, arcs and shapes in a combination.

Anyone with a good idea about how to do this? I can easily run through all .dra files using a batch script and executing a skill command on each .dra file, I've done that with succes in the past.

Best regards

Ole

     Hi Ole

I kind of remember Dave mentioning that in one of his replies that you might have to create a new object from the selected objects

I don't know if there is a skill function, having said that I might do something like

    1. Get all the lines, shapes, texts in DISP_TOP and create unique lists for each of these objects

    2. Loop through each object  in the lines/shapes/text lists and obtain their co-ordinates

    3.  Use skill axl functions create a new instance of the objects in layer ASSEMBLY_TOP

    4. Delete the objects in DISP_TOP

    5. Save Symbol

and as you mentioned you can create an external DOS Batch to run through all your DRA

Hope this helps you or wait for Dave to shine his wisdom on us :-)

    Regards

    Venkata
