Component Instance Property - Symbol Instance Property

Is there any skill avaliable to transfer a component instance property to a symbol instance property. I have a property in Capture that I would like to display as a datatip in Allegro. Currently the Capture property is a component instance type. The Datatip function uses symbol instance properties. Short of applying these properties manually using Edit Property it would be nice is there was any way to do this with skill after the netlist import.

Hi leonlee, sorry for this late feedback, but I was out of office until now.

Thank-you for "debug" my routine: as you said now it run properly.

Unfortunately my first question remain unsolved: this routine can manage a property called "VALUE" but, from my test, it isn't the "key-property" passed to electrical symbol by the ptf file (or by attributes commands). I think I must better undersand the real names of all components' property when they are imported from Allegro Design Entry to Allegro PCB Design (as they are coded into the "brd" file) and then try to get the needed string.

    Anyway, your help was great.

    Have a nice day!
