Add Via Shape - Package Design

From BGA pin as well from Die bump we will be bringing vias to internal core layers. In the build-up layers there will be lot of same net vias. We would like to add a shape for the multiple vias (same net) to connect. Once I select a vias (same net) and click add shape it should add a shape to those selected vias and assign a net name of the selected vias. Attached a picture for ref.

Hi Nate...  basically, I've asked him/her to contact me directly to flesh out the details. e.g. in the image provided, why are the purple nets still hexagons, and not triangles? Do we use a specific shape geometry, or best fit tangent boundary on all the vias? etc. If you have a similar request, would love to hear your requirements as well.

     (nice avatar, btw  :-)

It is fortunate the shape you wish to lay on top of the vias is symmetrical as is the groupings of the pins, makes the task easier.

Use the centers of the voids in the plane-shape as centers for placement of your overlay-shapes, with a simple calculation to determine orientation of the shapes as necessary.

Hi All, Thanks for ur responses. Yes. It suppose to be Triangle. I have copy & Paste those shapes. That's the reason I have requested the Add via shape. It's something like Convex Hull program. The vias may be placed in any angle and depends on the via location shape should be added (any angle).

     Regards, Subbu
