    Hi and Welcome.

Skill files are equal to Visual Basic source code file, exept the language is Lisp.

How to get ? write one Your self or find them at Sourcelink.Cadence.com or the yahoo group wich i forgot the name of.

Where they reside, Hmm depends on You environment setup.

Read some code files and the documentasion in Your install dir.

As many as poeple who creates skill files, understood that only Your need and fantacy is a limit of what to do (almost).

This forum it self, do not help You to start. Like any programming language/tool, if You do not have an idea, no one can help You, on the other hand if You have a need or idea, this forum is a perfect place to go :-).

    Sincerely

      Klavs.

    Hi

Place the skill file somewhere natural (eg in a folder path : D:\data\allegro\skill\)

In the env file You point to this path and other (maybe default) skill path, in the local allegro.ilinit put a line :

          load "d:/data/allegro/skill/my-new-skill-file.il"

restart allegro (there are some other ways, but dont bother now.

When allegro is up running again just type my-new-skill-file at the command line.

     RGDS

      Klavs.
