Basic question: How to use SKILL in Cadence?

Hello, I'm new to the forums, had a very basic question...

How can I use SKILL language in Cadence?  I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to post this in, but I'm new to SKILL, and would like to draw an inverter layout using SKILL language, for instance.  How do I begin going about doing this?

  Any help is much appreciated!

    That depends....

If you have no programming background you will find Skill difficult at first. You will need to spend time looking at existing code and working on simple examples before stepping up to complex tasks.

Take a look at the Cadence Help. The Skill Language User manual is a good place to start. (...\doc\sklanguser\sklanguser.pdf)

Type set telskill on the command line (assuming you have Performance or above) to load the Skill console and type println("Hello world") into the window.

There are some great tutorials there written for beginners.
