Thermal relief removal

Adeshere
Adeshere over 14 years ago

Hello,

I am using a coin cel battery holder on my PCB, so i have a large circle pad which is connected to GND.

The board has a copper flood also connected to GND.

I want to remove the thermal relief from this pad, so the two are completly connected together instead of the usual spokes.

 thanks

Adrian

The easiest way to do this is to set the parameter on the plane for direct connect. this may not be possible as this will remove the thermal relief from all the pins connected to that plane.

The second choice is to add a pin property to all a direct connection.

With the pin visible on the screen, go to edit properties.

in the find filter select pins. then select your pin.

in the edit property window that appears, scroll down to Dyn_Thermal_Con_Type

Then in the value drop down select FULL_CONTACT

Your pin will now have full contact to the plane.
