Opening new Allegro instance after selecting symbol to open

So the end goal here is to run a cmd click on a symbol and open a new Allegro session with the symbol selected opened up. This is so I can edit a symbol quickly without having to close the board file I have open. The problem I have is grabbing the Symbol name after selection, symbolvar isn't giving me the symbol name. My code so far is:

axlCmdRegister("le" `lib_edit)
defun( lib_edit ()
let((symbolvar fullpath)
axlClearSelSet()
axlSetFindFilter(?enabled '("NOALL", "SYMBOLS"), ?onButtons '("SYMBOLS"))
axlSelect(?prompt "Select Symbol to edit in library")
symbolvar = axlGetSelSet()
fullpath = "run -b allegro $PSMPATH/" symbolvar ".dra"
axlShell(fullpath)
axlClearSelSet()
axlFinishEnterFun()
))

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    As a quick test try changing the 2 lines:

    symbolvar = axlGetSelSet()
    fullpath = "run -b allegro $PSMPATH/" symbolvar ".dra"

    To:

    symbolvar = car(axlGetSelSet())
    fullpath = strcat("run -b allegro $PSMPATH/" symbolvar->name ".dra")
