Hi, I want to obtain a list of the printers available in the system.

is there any SKILL function can capture that? or must use ipc functions to

communicate with an external scripts (e.g VBS in Window / Csh in unix)

to achieve so?

    Hi Ole, Thanks for the advice. yes, i can confirm that currently

    no existing functions can achieve that,

    and looks like ipc functions with some vbs is the only way to go.

    so the first step (Sorry but i am new to the ipc functions)

    i wish to achieve is a simple try.vbs which prints a "Hello World" string @

    Windows command prompt, and it is able to be captured and stored in a SKILL variable.

    the try.vbs comes with a single statement of:  Wsh.Echo "Hello World"

    and in my SKILL function:

    defun( ipc_tst ()
             cid = ipcBeginProcess( "try.vbs")
             ipcWaitForProcess(cid)
             ipcReadProcess(cid)
    )

    but i keep on getting an error of :

    Skill > ipc_tst
    "Cannot create child process 'try.vbs '; Error code: 193\n"

    it seems like the child process cannot be initiated.  how shall i go to

    capture the "Hello world" which is printed by a vbs script?

    Thx
