Opening files from Allegro

I have a Component definition property called datasheet location that describes the path to a pdf file. I want to be able to open this in Allegro dependent on which component I select. Can anyone tell me if this is technically possible.

 Thanks

Dave

    Hi Dave,

Yes, it is possible - even easy!

See attached. You will need to edit some lines and using a registered interactive command to run the file will work best.

    Regards,
    Dave

Just realised that the property is coming through as an instance property not a comp def. So it won't pick it up

Got it working now. Changed the Allegro.cfg file to send the property through as a Compdef and it works superbly. Thanks for the tip
