OrCAD PCB Designer "Lite" What are the limitations?

Happy New Year...

I have been trying to find out what the limitations and differences are for the OrCAD PCB Designer "Lite".

Is this a version that is marketed in the USA only?

Is it the same as the Demo version available for download?

And then: What are the limitations regarding number of components, nets, footprints, board size/layers etc?

OrCAD Lite has been replaced with new and improved dedicated OrCAD Viewer, OrCAD Trial, and OrCAD Academic versions that provide more advanced PCB design functionality for everyone. Learn more on OrCAD.com.

Is there any way at all to get 17.4 to start up in lite mode when the license is not found? I don't keep my dongle plugged into my laptop at all times and the ability to open designs for viewing in lite mode without having to dig it out and reread with lmtools was VERY convenient.

Yes but you need to make a couple of new shortcuts as follows:-

PCB Editor Viewer – Go to C:\Cadence\SPB_17.4\tools\bin and locate the allegro_free_viewer.exe, select and right click – Create Shortcut. You can then put this on the Desktop, Start Menu or Taskbar. I would also suggest renaming this to be PCB Editor Free Viewer.

Capture Viewer – Go to Start – Cadence PCB 17.4-2019 – Capture CIS 17.4 and right click – More – Open File Location then use CTRL+C and CTRL+V to paste a new copy of the Capture icon. Rename this to Capture CIS Viewer 17.4. Now right click on the icon and choose Properties and change the Target value so that it has -viewer at the end so C:\Cadence\SPB_17.4\tools\bin\Capture.exe -viewer. Ok this.
