rexReplace not working

in Skill..
how can i replace "<"  with "& l t ;"  (without the spaces) within a string.. 
i tried rexReplace but it doesnt work..



rexCompile("<")
varname= rexReplace(varname"& l t ;" 0)

You may want to try using rexSubstitute instead of rexReplace

> setq name "MY"

"MY"

> rexCompile("[A-Z]+")

t

> rexSubstitute("\\0<NAME>")

"MY<NAME>"

Chrome is making this difficult. Double backslash the ampersand in your rexReplace command

I had a hard time posting the question too :/ hence, the spaces. :/ anyway, the double backslashes worked like a charm.. Thanks!!
