Formated strings in STRFILLIN field

I have a form with a STRFILLIN field with FSIZE of 75x6. I have a very long string that I've formated with sprintf. When I set the field none of the carriage returns (\n) are recognized. I can manually enter a CR in the field. Does anyone know how to format the string so the field will recognize the CR's?
