Skill code to tidy up all the old "filename.ext",* files e.g.top.art,1

Does anybody have a hand skill routine to tidy up an allegro working directory by removing all the *.*,1 and *.*,2 and *.*,3 files

I use shell command to do this, example below;
defun( tidy_up ()
shell("del *.*1")
shell("del *.*2")
shell("del *.*3")
);end defun
