How to run 16.2 Script file in 16.5 version

Hi,

 

I have problem with executing the script file which is created for 16.2 in 16.5.

it is well working for 16.2 but for 16.5 it was not exucuting, giving comment like "E- Command not found: draft param" in command window

Can anyone please help me on this?

 Attached the script file for your reference (script file for General rule check for through hole footprints).

  • Dimensioning was overhauled in 16.5 and the Dimension Environment needs to be invoked, "dimension edit" and then all the dimension controls are on a right mouse button menu "pop_dyn..." It would probably be best to re-record the script for 16.5 and later, rather than try to "patch" scripts between versions.

    You are telling that we cant use the same script file (which we have recored in 16.2) for 16.5 ?

    but the script file what i have attached is so complicated which i can't re-record in 16.5 it will be soo difficult....:(

    Please let me know is there any way to run this script file in 16.5.......?

     

     

     

  • You cannot run this script in 16.5 because the "draft param" command no longer exists, the "draft" (Dimension) parameters were moved to the Dimension environment. You cannot record this script in 16.5 so you cannot replay it - the script is a record of commands, any commands that are no longer valid will not allow the script to run. You MAY be able to record some required actions from within the later PCB Editor and "graft" actions between the versions but this may well not be successful. Refer to the "?coms" directories in the "doc" directory and the "?coms.pdf" files within them for an explanation of all the supported commands for a specific version. To run the script unchanged would require version 16.2, or 16.3, basically before the change to dimensioning functionality.
