axlDBCreateShape attach to via?

Hi

I've used axlDBCreateShape and attached it to a symbol with succes in the past.

Now I would like to be able to do the same for a via but seems like this is not possible or is there a way to do this?

    I'm sorry but that won't work in this case. 

    I don't want to attach the via to a symbol, I want to attach a shape to a via so that If I move the via then the shape gets moved together with the via.

    I'll be using this to create a custom layer under Manufacturing for a resized mask layer depending on either an existing mask or etch layer.

    Creating the resized shape is no hassle, all coding is done, my concern is that if a via is moved after running the resize functionality then I have a mask openening in a place where there should be no mask opening, hence the need to attach it to the via.
