Allegro PCB --> Export Placement ????

I have a two sided PCB and the goal is to generate two placement files; one for the top, and one for the bottom.

How is this accomplished?

Currently if I run File --> Export --> Placement, it generates one file with the top and bottom components mixed together in one file.  Also the bottom side coordinates appear to be relative to the top origin looking through the board.

Tools --> Reports -->Component report  seems to generate the same mixed result.

  • The Component Report template is in the installation at share\pcb\text\views\cmp_rep.txt, you will need two copies of this, in copy1 (for the TOP), change the SYM_MIRROR entry to SYM_MIRROR="FALSE", and save this modified template, in copy2 (for the BOTTOM), change the SYM_MIRROR entry to SYM_MIRROR="TRUE", and save this modified template. The default report path will include the current directory, but this might have been changed, assuming the default is still set, save these report templates to the board directory and they will appear at the bottom of the Tools>Reports list for selection. If you want to "mirror" the part locations to be "as viewed from the bottom", you will need to post process the locations, probably just changing the sign for X, or Y, or both, values will get what you need.
