Revision Number Alias

Hi All

I'm using a revision text string on multiple layers which I have to change manually with every new release. Is there a way of using a wildcard or string variable which I have to change only once and which is automatically updated on each layer? I'm using Allegro 16.5.

Thanks in advance,

Martin

    You can first get all text and then filter the text on layers and/or strings which you want to change.

    l_dbtxt = axlDBGetAttachedText(axlDBGetDesign())

    reg = pcreCompile( "(SOLDERMASK)|(^ETCH/)")

    l_dbtxt = setof(txt l_dbtxt pcreExecute(reg txt->layer) )

    the l_dbtxt now contains items from etch and soldermask layers.

    The same setof you can do for the actual text:

    reg = pcreCompile( "^mystring")

    l_dbtxt = setof(txt l_dbtxt pcreExecute(reg txt->text) )

    And now use the axlDBChangeText to change the text for each text dbID in the list.

    btw, i believe someone posted a text edit utility on this forum a while ago.
