How to Get a List of All Discrete Components, Even Ones Not Placed Yet

Hello,

A while back I asked for help getting the information regarding discrete components and was helped out with:

 symDbidList = setof(symDbid axlDBGetDesign()->symbols symDbid->component->class == "DISCRETE")

This worked great for the components that were already placed in the design.  How would I get the dbid information for all discrete components even if they haven't been placed in the design yet.  They exist in the parts list, but just haven't been placed yet.

Thanks in advance,

Mark

    Try Components, rather than Symbols, Components (Comps) are from the netlist, placed, or not.

    I'm new to SKILL and wasn't really sure what you meant, but I tried a number of things and ended up changing the line above to:

    symDbidDiscreteList = setof(compDbid axlDBGetDesign()->components compDbid->class=="DISCRETE")

    I also changed a foreach from:

    foreach( compDbid compList
       compName = compDbid->name

    to

    foreach( compDbid compList
       compName = compDbid->package

    That seemed to do the trick.  Thanks!
