How can i read the width & the height value using skill

hi Dave, all

I am using 17.2 padstack editor . How can i read the width & the height value using skill code?

I am having decimal points issues on custom shapes, when ever there is a shape with X & Y size which has a 3rd decimal as "5", it either rounds up or rounds down. Our standard  setup is in 3 decimals.

Please advice how can i tackle this issue.

Thanks

There is no Skill interface within the padstack editor itself.

Get the pad on the layer that you want to query using axlDBGetPad. The bounding box gives you the height and width. Use the pin definition in preference to the pin if you are after the library size.

The number of decimal places is controllable in a field at the bottom of the Pad Editor form.

    Hi Dev

The issue on my side is  we are dealing with custom shapes. When the 17.2 padstack editor reads the custom shapes into the padstacks editor, some custom shapes that has a width & height of example 7.775x16.3mm, the "7.775" value actually is from 3.8875x2. If we do a Bbox of this shape we will see 3.8875 if we set the drawing accuracy at 4 decimals. Our Setup is in 3 decimal accuracy, so it gets rounded up to 3.888 and the width value if we do a axlDBGetPad & Bbox, this value will become 7.776. The problem is the padstack editior display 7.775 in the padstack editor when the custom shape is being read in, but when we do Bbox it is giving 7.776. This created an issue for us when we need to add 0.3mm for themal pad & anti pad, where the value taken is 7.776+0.3 & not 7.775+0.3. I also notice we had no issue in 16.6 because when the custom shape called into the 16.6 padstack editor, it displays 7.776(rounded up).

Is there any command that i can use to un round the number back to 4 decimals with my drawing settings in 3 decimal?

    Please advice.

    Thanks

    Jerry
