Create PCB footprint

  1. When create package symbol using “package symbol wizard”, need to select a padstack, how can I find the shape and size of the padstack from the list?
  2. I need to pick a padstack good for physical pin size 1.0 mm x 0.2 mm. (or 15.7 mil x 7.9 mill)

  • Firstly, you have posted in the wrong forum. This is forum exclusively for Allegro Skill discussions.

    Your request is simple so I will answer anyway. If you have a library of padstacks you just need to select the correct one based on the name. Normally the name of a rectangular pad will relate to the extents.

    The Cadence supplied library uses names like "55r36" which I assume is a 55mil by 36mil rectangular pad.

    There is no other easy way of determining the size.
