How to make the assembly layer for gerber files

Fari
Fari over 5 years ago

Hi,

I am generating the gerber files to fab my PCB. I have my entire board done (as in placing and routing components, etc.). But I'm having trouble with my assembly layer required to generate the fab files. Does anyone know how I can enlarge my board outline (I think I read somewhere that it has to be 3x the size) for the assembly drawing layer. Any help will be really appreciated in this matter!

Thank you!

You could use manufacturing/drafting/create detail to copy and enlarge the image.

Text will be converted to lines.

To preserve text, you can export an IPF file, then import it and change the scale.

Ditto. I prefer the export/import IDF assembly creation because along with 'scaling' the import, you can also mirror the import.
