Rules for Creating a clip file

I want to copy some lines and text from one design to another.

I have selected lines and text in my find filter and then windowed the selections.

Selected an insertion point and origin point as the tool requests.

I create the .clp file and store it in the same directory as the design I want to import this clip into.

But when I try to import this in I do not get everything I selected.

What are the rules for creating a clip file.

Have you checked the log file?  There may be missing layers on the new board which can't be matched up in the old file.  If that's not the case, can you post an example?

I received a log file stating "Trying to paste the sub-design having units "mils" and accuracy 3 on to the design having units "millimeters" and accuracy 4. Possibility of losing data accuracy."

So I went into the design which I was creating the clip file from and changed the units to the same units and resolution as the design I want to import the clip file into. I do not get all of the elements of the clip file le. The only element I get is a large circle which is a line. None of the text within the circle get imported in. I will keep trying. I did create a service ticket with our software supplier EMA-EDA but have not received any information back with help. Thanks
