Basic PCB Workflow in OrCad 17.4

I'm new to OrCad but not new to PCB design/capture/layout. The quick start tutorials are a great option but they seem not to have been updated for version 17.4.  Specifically, the process of transitioning from capture to PCB editing has changed.  I found this third-party guide to what has changed, but surely Cadence has documents for its newest version somewhere?  If I've overlooked them, please point me in the right direction.

It would also be great to be able to filter forum posts according to the version they relate to; it's pretty frustrating to do a search and find that most of the results that get returned are from 2011, and there is no way to sort by both date *and* relevance.

In the meantime, I have looked through the external resources pointed to by other recent posts but I'm afraid I haven't found anything of even remotely reasonable quality. I don't have the time or the patience for 17 pages of "here is how the mouse works", nor for "this is what this dialog box does". Suggestions are welcome for quick-start guides that are 1) for 17.4 and 2) explain how to accomplish major tasks, not what the UI does.

Best regards,

Mylène

Thanks for point that out. Just took a look -- I see where they're offering two weeks of free support for training, but not for customer support (i.e. the ability to log tickets). If I've missed something, let me know!

This depends on where you bought the software from. If it was from Cadence direct you can raise tickets on support.cadence.com. If you bought from a Cadence Channel Partner you need to contact them for any support based issues - they can file tickets on your behalf if they can't resolve your issue directly.

Ah, that's helpful. I was brought in to the middle of a project, so I don't know the backstory of how the licenses were purchased.  Will chase that down.
