Cant use cadence PCB's auto-router option

Hello everyone. I'm new in cadence products. I wonder if there is a way to solve the following mistake. When I had all the electronic devices placed on the PCB, and I want to route all the tracks but not manually because there are a lot of them, so I try to use the option "Route->PCB router->Route automatically" but cadence throw me a message that disable the "Route" option.

"Please verify that you are running allegro pcb router version V9.0 or later. try "file viewlog" to view  Allegro PCB rpouter's log file"

Thanks in advance.

Hi on this, there is another way to export your board to Specctra which may work for you. In Orcad go to file > export > Router. This will generate the specctra router file.

Note Specctra files have the same extension as "Orcad-Capture" files .dsn. You want to make sure you don't overwrite a capture schematic file if it is named the same as your board file.

The best way to do this is create a folder on your c drive and export the file to there. Then Launch Specctra "Cadence PCB Router" from the windows start button. When you launch specctra it will ask you to browse to where you have saved the .dsn file.

The cadence PCB Router is the former CCT autorouter and will require a fair amount of setting up to make it run good.

Main thing is to see if specctra actually runs. If it does and it loads the board that will be good. If not it will create a log file. The log file should contain info as to what the issue may be.

    Thanks.

It looks like you have spaces in your design name and the autorouter doesn't like that. try replacing the spaces with an _ (underscore) or just call it design.brd and see if that helps.

Hi Juanjoc, I had the same problem, so I use other option, I installed the LayoutEditor to use Freerouting option. Search that tool to solve your problem, there's tutorial on Youtube about it, I used to use it in kicad, but it work too for Orcad
