Hi All

My Requirement is  when I select the parts from  Schematic (Capture CIS) ,in Allegro PCB editor  I draw rectangle all selected parts placed within the rectangle.

I know room option already available. But i am looking for without disturbing schematic .

Thanks,

    st_group_comps_v1-0.zip

    Hi Karthik,

I had been meaning to write a script for grouping components for years. I finally got round to it. The attached skill file will group selected
components if they are already placed on the canvas. I use quickplace first. The components will keep to the rectangle unless there are
too many in which case they will overlap the bottom of the rectangle. This is a relatively simple script which suits my purposes. I imagine
that there are various improvements that could be made such as spacing options, warnings if fixed objects are found, placement of
non-placed comps etc etc. I will not be creating any updates in the near future as my job is pcb routing not programming or sys-admin
but if anyone wants to add to or improve the code please feel free to do so.
