OrCAD PCB Designer Standard : Adding a via array

Hi,

Very first project with OrCAD since school back 20 years ago. I need an array of via stitching throughout the board. I thought videos on the internet would help. Only to realize I need a more expensive licence !

How can I add an array of vias with OrCAD PCB Designer Standard ?

Thanks

    Edit->Copy

    Then choose the options window and set the array size.  Place the copy and the vias will copy across the board as you set up.

    The difference between this and the higher license is obstacle avoidance but that is not Edit->Copy, it's the via stitching license.

    The base license will just stick the via down.  The upper licenses will meander around the obstacles.  So you will need go back in and delete or move the vias that interfere.  If you have large designs this becomes tedious and thus they charge for that feature. Slight smile

    Thanks for that.

    That should do the trick.

    I discovered how to manually place a via but not how to assign it to gnd so it would automatically connect to the ground plane. I wish I could assign it to ground, then copy. Can you tell me how I can do that ?

    Thanks,
