"Add connect" delay invoking in 17.4

Hi,

I'm not sure what changed, but I did a hotfix update, and now I get a delay when "Add/Connect" kicks off. It used to invoke almost instantly, now I get ~1-2 second delay. I've searched the preferences and constraint modes and can't find what's changed. Anyone know where that setting resides, or if a constraints check has been added?

Thx

Hi what version are you using ?, if 17.4 I am seeing lots of delays here, 17.2 looks good.

    All the best.

17.2 was much more stable. to the point that I will save as to 17.2 to finalize the board design. strange.

17.4 in the PCB Editor has some nice additions but I had to revert to 17.2 because the display speed on moderate sized boards is very poor in 17.4. The open GL performance in 17.4 is pretty bad compared to 17.2.

My issues pertain to Pannning / Zooming and base graphics. I use the Infinite "Full Screen Cursor". Turning this on in 17.4 results in a "Huge" hit to performance. Give it a try it is pretty bad. The speed of highlighting objects such as symbols, clines etc, basically any object is really bad. For example swoop your cursor across a bus of clines at a moderate pace. The clines do not highlight LOL, I kid you not.
If you move very slowly you might get lucky and highlighting will work.

Here is the thing. The PCB editor has been this way to the best of my knowledge since it was released over a year ago. Something is wrong with QA on this. I mean whom is testing this thing is beyond me
because if your shiny new PCB editor is slower than the prior version then that's a "Red Flag" IMHO.

    All the best.
