Method for identifying Dummy Nets in PCB Editor?

Gipper

This question relates to OrCAD PCB Designer Pro 17.4 S016.

I recently had to make several schematic changes to a very busy board. Is there a quick or simple method to identify all the unassigned, or Dummy, nets on a project?

    There's a skill script on support.cadence.com called "dh_dummy_net.il"

Or, you can use the find filter in layout.

    >Display >Assign Color

    Options Tab

    Select a color

Under Find Filter tab, you have to make sure Nets are selected.

    Then use  Find By Name

    >Net

    > dummy

    press  the tab key.

Perfect. I originally looked for "Dummy" under Color Dialog->Nets, but I didn't see it.

    The above worked!

Allegro has always let you highlight (aka "assign color") a net called "dummy".  Just use the find box and type in "dummy" without quotes instead of a net name.  It won't show up in the list of nets. No need to play around with the color box or skill.  Same thing works for de-highlight.

I still do it the old fashion way - Display Highlight;  Pick a color (I normally use dark grey); In elements - select Nets in find; and type   dummy   in the fillin block. They now turn on as Dark Grey.
