Import from Altium to OrCAD PCB Designer has illegal extents

A board I just imported from Altium into OrCAD 17.4 has huge extents: left X -4000000.00. lower Y -4000000.00, width 13999999.00, height 13999999.00. Units are mils, origin is at 0,0, accuracy is 2.

When I try to change any of the extents I get an error, in the form of "Exceeds [maximum|minimum] allowed [X|Y] coordinate". I suspect it's checking the values as each are changed, and they are related, so since all are at the limits, none can be changed.

Any ideas on how to resolve this? I can give instructions to the people who created the Altium database if there is something they need to change on their end.

Thanks!

Steve

Get them to display all layers and then screenshot their cursor at the extents.  Sounds more like a unit conversion issue to me.

Had this happen to me, had to use skill commands to fix it. Dont remember the commands on the tip 9f my head, but you can find 8t in the skill manual.

"Been there - Done that". My import had the size of a football field. I had to manually reduce the extents by editing X and Y values/limits step by step.

Hint to Cadence: Why not make it possible to set the extent and design origin by "window"  - option (Like in AutoCAD UCS/Limits/Extents)

So there is a feature that is part of the OrCAD Productivity Toolbox that does this already.  1346.drawingsize.pdf

So here's the skill file from the Cadence Support site. If you open the file in a text editor it lists how to use it.3324.autosize.zip
