Customised Unconnected net report

Does anyone have or know how to make a customised unconnected net report?

I need to have a report that shows similar to the 'unconnected pins report'. But it also shows the distance of the unconnected pins (X1-X2 and Y1-Y2 for example, or even further [[X1-X2]^2+[Y1-Y2}^2]^0.5 so it gives the distance between the X1,Y1 and X2,Y2 positions).

I could import into excel and extract the information but this is long and involved and prone to errors, if there is an easier report method I would like to know how.

The extracta reports only extract information from the database, they don't provide any processing of the extracted values. If you don't want to use Excel, you would need to write the report in SKILL which does allow processing of the database values.

    Thanks old.

Is there a way of just getting the X,Y of the the unconnected nets similar to the 'Unconnected Net Report but without the extra lines and linefeeds on the outputs? maybe a single line "Net Name, From, X, Y, To, X, Y" as a single line as the Net Report has the net name then a line feed and each from to on separate lines.

The good thing with the extracta reports is that it's possible to quickly construct reports to get data from the design, the not so good thing with extracta reports is that there is little control over the formatting of the resulting output and the records will be separated with blank lines without any control over that. Again, writing reports in SKILL gives, pretty much, unlimited scope for formatting the report output.

I would try to use SKILL but I do not believe we have a license for it. When I run our Allegro PCB Designer Project Manager, SKILL is not listed.

How do I find SKILL on the Allegro system? Is there an IDE or program that needs to be run to get the IDE and which tool does it work in?

There isn't a license required for SKILL, you can create SKILL scripts with a text editor and load them with any license level of PCB Editor. "skill" in PCB Editor Command Window will start the SKILL Command function and SKILL scripts can be, "carefully", experimented with from there. Check the PCB SKILL forum and resources on the Cadence Support site for documentation, examples, and so on.

It appears to be a sub-set of Virtuoso??

SKILL uses the Cadence Design Framework II license (License Number 111), which is checked out at the launch of the skill executable or the workbench.
