Padstack Editor 17.4 problem : Value must be greater than 0 [SOLVED]

Hello !

I have a big problem when creating a padstack using the Padstack Editor 17.4

In the "drill" tab, I cannot enter any numeric data without having the error message: "Value must be greater than 0"

This problem does not appear in version 17.2  padstack editor

For  SMD pad, I have the same problem in configuring the dimensions.

My Cadence version is up to date

Anyone have a solution?

The first thing to do is try open a padstack Locally on your C:\ Drive and then see if you can save that padstack locally.

It seems to me that if you are using a shared folder on a network to store you padstacks & symbols then the issue may well be there.

Try confirm doing things locally first - aka not over the network.

When you installed cadence did you install it for "All Users" or only the current user ?. You can confirm this by looking on your c drive for a folder called SPB_DATA, if that folder is not there then
the software was not installed for all users. I had seen weirdness in the past on a windows system if the software is not installed for "All Users". The actual issue pertained to windows not having
the correct permissions if  cadence was not installed for all users. Note the above info assumes you installed the software on your c:\ Drive.

Let us know what you find.

    Hello,
The test by opening a pad locally does not work better for modifying a value.
    I can save without problem.
And yes Cadence is installed for all users.
On the 3 PCs with this problem

I tested the latest ver s018. No problems found running on win 10  ver 1909 (OSBUILD 18363, 1500)

Checked various combinations of pad drill etc. Cant replicate your error !

    Hello Excellon1,
    Thanks for testing.
Yes, this is a rather strange problem that we are encountering. It must be specific to our systems and I think more about finding solutions.

I have W10pro 21H1 (19043.1110) with Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3530.0  (french language)

    Thank you for your answers
