IBS model from Board file

Hi team,

Is there any way to generate IBIS model of the complete board file? Can we generate IBIS model from cadence PCB editor? If yes, please inform by using which version of the tool we can generate the same.

thanks in advance,
Salih

Generating IBIS for the entire board sounds strange. Why are you looking to generate IBIS for the entire board?

IBIS models are generally for components not to the entire board.

    Agreed fully.

This may be of some help based on my experience from a few years back:

An IC designer I worked with wanted to simulate the effects of the PC on a high frequency device decided to use the S Parameter from the PCB simulation.  In virtuoso he crate an S Parameter block and then added the data from the PCB simulation.  I thought it was a nifty idea, but the Cadence Team (we had on site support visit) believed this was not the correct approach.  We could never seem to get this approach to work and after a month or so of effort we move to a different approach that provided a better solution.

We ended up using Allegro to characterize the traces impedance, and the discrete component components then he and created a model of this as a 4port object in Virtuoso and he was able to simulate.

His target was an ABM not and IBIS model.
