Differential pair spacing DRC

kakri

Hello,

I have defined a differential pair having a primary gap of 6 mil and I wanted line to line spacing 20 mil. The both nets are defined as differential pair and the constrains are applied. I was able to draw the differential pair with the required primary gap (6 mil) but a line to line spacing DRC error is coming mentioning

"

Constraint value: 20 MIL

Actual value: 6 MIL

 "

Kindly provide a solution.

When routing differential pairs with a gap less than the line-to-line spacing constraint, you must set the Min Line Spacing column value to be equal to the smallest diffpair gap including any neck gaps and (-) Tolerance settings to get rid of the L-L DRCs.

Here is an example for reference:

    Typical line-to-line spacing = 10.00

    Primary gap = 8.00

    Neck gap = 6.00

    (-) Tolerance = .01

    Min Line Spacing = 6.00 - .01

           = 5.99

Once the "Min Line Spacing" is specified correctly, the L-L DRCs will not be generated.
