Cline to static shapes voiding - Cline to auto void creation.

Hi,

I have this board that the shapes were dynamic and got changed to static. I can change those shapes to be dynamic so as to allow traces to be automatically cleared around the shape but doing this blows out the system created voids and basically makes the board a total mess.

Does anyone know if there is a property that can be applied to "Static" shapes on the etch layer so as to make said shapes work the same as dynamic shapes ?. I am thinking not but figured I would ask.

I can manually create voids around the clines in a static shape so as to clear them but looking for a more automatic way to do this. ( changing to dynamic shapes is not really an option ) on this design.

On a related question is there a Skill routine or add-on that would allow one to create a void on a ground plane layer below where a trace is been routed at the same time ?. For straight clines it is not too much of a problem to manually create the necessary void but for spline curves those voids are very difficult to do. This is kind of like doing a tandem route but instead of the cline on the other layer a void is automatically created that follows the cline. It would be good if there was also an option to oversize the void so as to provide extra clearance too.

Any clues or off the wall ideas on this most appreciated.

Thanks.

Nothing for the shapes that I'm aware of but there is an app called GraseWare ClineRoute Keepout which you can get from here Buy OrCAD Software - OrCAD Pricing & Products | EMA Store (ema-eda.com). This is quite an old version (pre 17.2 I think) so If it may / may not work but if you PM me I have a 64Bit version that I can zip up and send via email which does work..

Hi Steve, I had tried that GraseWare utility but could not get it to work. I think what I am after is kind of like a feature request "Void Cline" Draw a trace
on a static ground plane and it creates the void.

What I had been doing is to create a RKO on dynamic planes then change the plane to static and nuke the rko. It works but if the plane is ever change to
    dynamic then that void disappears.

This one is kind of an odd ball thing for RF related work. Probably better to just leave the planes dynamic and use the RKO shape to clear what I want.

    Thanks..
