How to remove FPC connector symbol from BOTTOM-Layer?

Hi!

I use Orcad PCB Designer 17.4.

I have to change the layout of a flex PCB design, I didn't start working with. The flex PCB design contains a 40-pin SMT connector on one front side. It is determined to be pluged into a FPC connector such as Amphenol F300 series.
Now in the layout the connector is double sided, but that is not useful, as one side is hidden by the flex PCB's stiffener anyway. For manufacturing reasons, the unused (bottom) side of the connector should be removed. If I unplace the symbol, both sides vanish.

In the circuit diagram of course the connector is only placed once.

AFAIK the symbol is drawn single-sided. The pad used, is designed to be TOP layer only.
Why is that symbol duplicated and how can I switch off that behaviour?

Kind regards, Manfred

if the symbol is created only for the top side the symbol is mirrored and placed probably in this case the symbol will not have top pads but only bottom pads , can you check the padstack of the footprint might be there are top and bottom pad since you mentioned if you delete the symbol both the pads are removed from the design, Or if you switch off the topside on the footprint you might see bottom pads as well.

I have difficulties understanding your comment. If you would place punctuation marks where appropriate, it would ease that task for me.

    Any further answers are welcome.
