Problem with "Unused pad suppression" and plane connection

Hello :)

I am trying to suppress unused pads from internal layers. I have :

  • set this option in the padtack editor : Suppress unconnected internal pads ; legacy artwork"
  • set the "Unused Pin Suppression" and "Unused Via Suppression" options in the Cross Section Editor > Physical.
  • set the "Dynamic unused pads suppression" option in the Cross Section Editor.

"Negative artwork" tick boxes are not set.

Unused Pads are indeed suppressed. Problem is that all my through hole pins on internal layers that are not connected to a cline are suppressed. This means that the GND pins aren't connected to the plane, they are suppressed. If I connect them to another GND pin using a cline, they are connected back to the plane. But this doesn't really make any sense... Vias are connected without a problem.

What am I doing wrong here ?

I am using Cadence OrCAD Pro 17.4 S029 and cannot update to another version.
Thank you !

I think due to some parameter display in the env file. You can test by creating a new env file empty to test.

Oh, didn't thought that it could be linked to some parameters in my env file. I'll try t otweak it to see if that changes anything

Check the shape you are uisng to make sure that it is dynamic and is also up to date becuase this just worked for me - I am using S031 though but I'd be suprised if that was the issue.
