Do you include pins in Dfa_Bound_Top?

How do you define the Dfa_Bound_Top for surface mount components?

Originally I was only going to include only the component body, as the copper from the pads can use the normal rules to determine spacing (copper to copper, etc). But then I was thinking that it might make sense to include the leads on the components. On the other hand, the leads will always be on top of the pads, so then does it matter anymore?

I've always used the courtyard system but I want to get away from that because in my opinion it is a bit outdated. However, I've never used the Dfa_Bound system so I want to get off on the right foot. Does anyone have advice?

If you think your Place_Bound shapes are accurate, then don't do anything...

Allegro will use those shapes if it can't find any Dfa_Bound shapes
