Cannot load symbol (Tried many fixes)

Hi,

This is my error:

Cannot load symbol 'CONNECTION_AREA_3X1,8MM'

I'm trying to place it on a board without a schematic trough place manually from library. It finds the symbol in the library but cannot place it due to error (I also do not see preview).

I'm have the latest hotfix 033 installed.

Things I've checked/tried:

Double checking names and paths

Resaving everything including renaming padstack and symbol.

Refreshing and updating padstacks/symbols.

Moving the correct path in psmpath and padpath to the top of list.

Checked that name length was set to a high value in design parameters and preferences.

Adding layers like Place_bound_top and Assembly_Top incase those are required layers.

Tips for more things to try?

ALSO WHYYYYY DOES THE ERROR MESSAGE NOT GIVE MORE INFORMATION?!?!?!

Sorry I'm a bit frustrated.

Regards,

Filip

    I found the issue...

Apparently a comma sign is not allowed in symbol name. Feel like that would be easy to have in the error message...

Below is an entry from 'Netlist Punctuation and Syntax Rules'

The valid characters for all fields are a to z, 0 to 9, dash (-) and underscore (_).
Package names can use only these characters. All other fields can use any other character but the exclamation point (!) and single quote (‘) – if you enclose these fields in single quotes.

In addition to that, there are limitations I have found on specific name lengths:

package names = 31 char max

padstack names = 20 char max
